It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be much more fun…and not as stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They have made choices a couple of years ago that’s likely cost them thousandsof thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our customers — and feel that now they’re a safe and legit gaming company — we believe you have the right to know the whole story before deciding to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to create a lot of people mad?
We believe that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions crosses the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling likes to withholding money to getting shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they lied about what network it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about the way they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Later reports (from BetOnline) suggested that things were fine and fixed, and that BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad way to advertise a new item. It doesn’t exude confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The reasoning was nearly always because the client supposedly cheated, although no proof was ever provided from BetOnline (from the cases we’ve read).
1 case that caught our eye was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories that showed him cheating (for evidence ).
He never got them though. What he did get was empty promises about the way they had been on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories because the documents were too big.
(Anybody who understands anything about internet poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files into your own computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why wouldn’t you send evidence someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his money back. His final update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for him, but also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the participant didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped into his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else could be hurt. He did it so his buddy might have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites would not even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most websites would have captured it much earlier ), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS however, is the way they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that many legit sites would not have allowed two individuals from the exact same IP to sit in precisely the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had happened, the participant’s account would come under inspection. He’d never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline desired it. But, technically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (which wasn’t any one). So it’s absurd BetOnline thinks they need to have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The previous example we want to talk about is an instance where a BetOnline rep outed how the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login numbers. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a good point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into account and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a fantastic answer, just a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What’s even more absurd is how these examples are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer number of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were struggling to pay their clients.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment group is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “However, since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. Once the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically improved payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, such as same day options.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find over $1.5 million in liabilities that was not reported by the prior direction. So I think it’d be safe to assume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all businesses face that we’ll address in the future in our review when it makes sense. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does this mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We will be honest — there’s no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d heard or known about any of those reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You would be safer light your money on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software is not to be taken lightly.
But as purchasing SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to manage operations, things have improved drastically. So much so that we’re comfortable now urging them to our subscribers.
And it is not only us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing with there, simply to get a change of heart when they saw how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review under.
However, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they offer to players. So we feel secure using accounts here.
It’s up to you to choose if you feel the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous from the way, let us jump into what’s important now — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a solid choice of banking options. However, you’ll want to keep in mind that what’s available to you will be determined by where you live.
Let us start with their deposit options.
Listed below are the payment methods BetOnline accepts and also the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no max Neteller
$10/no max Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no maximum Check
Check $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The largest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only websites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those additional kinds, charging 4.9%.
When you are ready to cash out your winnings, you can use:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Could take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take around ten days. Prices will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you choose, this can require 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours. Only 3 requests allowed per week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within 24 hours. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Requires around 36 hours and will cost you $20. Just 3 payouts allowed per week.
What I do not like is the way you’ll pay a fee for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand testimonials from customers who say they’ve received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they’re from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I’ve seen reports that indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 charge every month if you put in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. This means you can bet on sports, play casino and poker games.
Their longest reputation, and likely most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let’s begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on horses, sports and financing.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most popular sports in america. Those include:
You can also bet on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Soccer One option they have added recently is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast the industry is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, even though it looks as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That having been said, I think it’s a good idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this developing market. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports choices in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing to the same exact match.
There is no way to tell whether that’s going to be the case, nor can it matter whether they never expand this part of the sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on them.
They offer live gambling too. These options vary continuously, of course, to match with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You might also keep track of a few games concurrently using their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. It is also possible to increase your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook additionally runs a fair variety of promotions, and much more than you will see in their racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races in their main webpage. Each listing tells you how many open races there are, which should you click on it is going to expand to reveal the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a fantastic section to look through is that their racebook info tab within their own navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their track limitations. This lets you know that the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Discover how much you will make in case your bet(s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you may make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It is a good section if you are new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This segment is much more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the caliber or quantity their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your stakes daily with no min quantity or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the first time from the racebook. If you lose BetOnline will refund you around $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here you can wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include signature, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to bet on will depend on your bet kind.
This section looks to be an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or marketing BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is among the most well-known options for Americans. They are part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in total traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. When I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. Previously they had several complaints about the standard of the software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But following their upgrade we have seen suggestions they may have a few of the best software in the US marketplace.
From worst to best at 1 update? That may be pushing it. But based on the images I’ve seen, their applications DOES look better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have some options for cellular players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game choices.
Overall, however, it is wonderful to see they’re making advancements and are becoming more competitive with what other top tier US poker websites offer.
Speaking of that, a Number of their poker offers or promotions include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay this out to you 5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clean the offer. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in championship prize pools every single weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, too.
And it is not just a”bonus,” however, the games here must be softer due to the US traffic and also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables should be simpler here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft software, each of which are known for producing games that are topnotch. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:

If you Encounter a problem or have a question, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to point out here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I’ve heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to shine at client services. How else could you explain the prevalence of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat service (and that I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life up to now.
After the live chat session started, I needed to wait for a couple of minutes before the customer service person bothered to answer, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username into a live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I do not wish to enter that information to a chat room and, more importantly, the query demands no such information because it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten minutes for”assistance” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
That said, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline states they offer exceptional customer services. He also says that your best choice is to take advantage of their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
